The Purple Door on Young is an invitation to cross a threshold into the everyday sacred. It is a place to gather, to play, and to practic the creative arts, the art of tea, and the art of being alive.
The Purple Door on Young is home to Artist Chere Labbe Doiron and serves as her studio and gallery. Chere is building an active list of innovative arts instruction. Classes include: painting, color , creative mapping, bioplastic materials and sustainable living. Her instructional method is gentle - encouraging focus on building several experiences to completion of a work. Her classes fit both beginning and advanced students.
Sharon Pavelda, M.A. is an Expressive Artist and Performing Teacher who creates opportunity for people to play from the heart and celebrate in community. At the Purple Door on Young, these take the form of gathering around the table for no more than twelve people at a time and include: The Purple Tea Ceremony, The Mortality Party, and Levis's Table. Creativity practices Sharon facilitates include: Bad Art Playday, Intuitive Painting Classes, and Expressive Drawing.
